Many of the centenary trees in the gardens were planted in the early 19th century. Casa Velha do Palheiro proudly received its first guests as a country house hotel in May 1997. This is a haven of peace for those who appreciate a privileged way of life. We take great pride in our cuisine. We have table d´hote and à la carte menus and a selected wine list. For lunch we suggest the Clubhouse restaurant at Palheiro Golf. All reservations have to be paid 7 days before day of arrival. Pets: Only dogs and cats are allowed up to 3kg with a charge of 20€ per night. Extra beds are only possible in the Junior suite- up to 2 beds.
Guests at the Casa Velha may enjoy a wide variety of menus presented by our award winning French chef who mixes traditional Portuguese dishes with culinary expertise, resulting in an à la Carte menu which has already been recognized in Madeira as one of the finest on the island.
Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.
